Ubiquitous Computing Based Research Projects

The goal of pervasive computing is to manage the information quickly, efficiently and yes effortlessly. The world being more interconnected will eliminate mundane tasks. Ubicomp briefly is removing wires, making devices more user-friendly, and hiding the operational complexities with a cost that these connections may not entirely be secure.
Ubicomp termed, as ubiquitous computing is considered as a game changer in modern lifestyle. The core concept of ubicomp is to hide the working of an internet-controlled device and to make it super user friendly. Ubicomp is linked to the idea of internet of things (IoT). With the help of internet of things, network security and ubiquitous computing, we can achieve the goal of a smart word with endless fascinating opportunities. Below mention are some details and overview of some interesting Ubicomp projects that are very useful and interesting.
BilliCam is a smartphone application that is being used in medical treatment. Over the past recent year smart phone have taken over almost all the professions. With the help of smartphones and sensors health sensing have received, allot of attention over the past recent years. BilliCam is used for newborn jaundice. A newborn baby’s immune system is very weak, so much weak that it can fall prey to diseases very easily. It is common for newborn babies to have mild jaundice at birth but in case of extreme jaundice, it may lead to permanent brain damage. The current test to judge the presence of jaundice requires clinical tests, blood tests, and visualization of color manually but with the help of BilliCam, we can detect premature and extreme jaundice in new born babies. BilliCam works with the help of smartphone cameras, BilliCam evaluates the bilirubin levels in a newborn baby skin. Depending on the bilirubin level, the smart phone application decides whether the newborn baby is diagnosed with jaundice or not. The HemaApp is also another gem of ubiquitous computing. The HemaApp has wide usage in modern day life as it checks the level of hemoglobin in the blood. With the help of this app it is easy to check the hemoglobin levels in the blood without going to the medical centers. Hemoglobin is a type of protein in the blood that carries oxygen to organs present in the human body. Low level of hemoglobin causes anemia disease. The common symptoms of anemia are fatigue, pale skin, insomnia and leg cramps. HemaApp is the best one step solution to such symptoms. With the help of HemaApp we can check the hemoglobin levels in blood and decide that weather we should visit a doctor in case of active diagnosed anemia. This ubicomp application helps in the detection of osteoporosis. A medical condition weakens the bones. There are no early symptoms of diagnosis of osteoporosis but with the help of the OsteoApp. The smart phone application works on the principle of resonance and density. As any other solid bones too have a density, at which they are strong and stable. The smart phone sends a resonance frequency and receives the frequency back after colliding with the bone. With the help of this information the app calculates the density of the bone and decides whether the bone is strong or has been affected by osteoporosis by comparing it with the strong bone average density details. Figure 3: Osteoporosis leads to permanent damage of the lower vertebra. With the help of the smart application, we can control osteoporosis by taking preventive measures in time.

One of the most common disease a man can possibly catch is clod and cough. We have to keep in mind that such simple diseases are symptoms to some complicated diseases like TB tuberculosis and pneumonia. With the help of cough sense, the smartphone application can diagnose the type of disease by lightning to you cough. The application is based of cough because sound and vibrations produced through your cough contains vital information about the situation of your respiratory tract. With the unique sound signature, the application tells us the type of disease we have. The automated algorithm decides because of the information provided by the cough that what is the disease.
